Underrating Abilities And Capabilities
The average person only rarely engages in sustained physical activity and does not participate in sports in school or colleges where team membership is typically restricted to the better athlete. In addition, most of us are employed in work that does not demand physical endurance, and our leisure time is largely spent in sedentary activities such as watching the TV. Perhaps because of this relative inactivity we assume that our mid-age precludes vigorous exercise to improve our physical fitness level. Happily, this is not so. age is no bar to engaging in a programme to improve fitness.
